Clayco Construction has a small but growing business in construction and has been operating in the region for a couple of years.
In August, it announced it was expanding into the remote mining town of Clayco.
The company is working with the community to build a large home on a hillside.
Its first project is a two-storey home with a single-storeys balcony.
You can see the house from the street, but the actual work will be on the other side of the hill.
This new building will allow Clayco to continue expanding the company’s footprint.
“The clayco business is growing,” Clayco Construction’s chief executive officer, Greg McBride, told Business Insider.
It’s a little bit like when you buy a house and then you see your neighbours are renovating and adding on, so you want to make sure you’re up to speed.
McBride said the company was looking to expand into more remote areas, and wanted to work with communities that have “the best chance of success”.
“We have been in the area for years and years and the clayco project is the first of many we are going to do in this area,” he said.
One of ClayCo’s biggest challenges was the fact the town had no electricity.
After a number of years of looking into alternative sources of energy, Clayco decided to build its own solar panels.
Once complete, the company plans to install 12,000 solar panels in the town of 1,300 people.
“It’s going to be one of the biggest solar projects in the world,” McBride said.
In 2017, ClayCo completed a massive solar array that was larger than the world’s largest rooftop solar farm.
Although the company is now looking to scale up, McBride still sees the claycoman solar project as a stepping stone.
He hopes to see the project become a global phenomenon, and eventually a sustainable way to power our homes and businesses.
When the company first announced it would build a solar farm, it was hailed as the “next big thing in renewable energy”.
McBridens optimism is reflected in the companys latest announcement.

However, this was before it was fully operational.
There is currently no way of knowing how many solar panels the company has in operation.
That uncertainty has left the company struggling to find a sustainable business model, with the majority of its funding coming from the company itself.
Since its initial announcement, Claycoman has seen its business dwindle, with its share price dropping from $4.7 million in March to $1.6 million in April.
But the company still has the capacity to grow, and plans to open a solar factory later this year, and McBride believes it can do so on a sustainable footing.
“We’ve always had a really hard time growing, but now with this boom, we’ll be able to scale it up and start making money,” he told Business Insiders.
So Clayco has no plans to shut down its business.
Rather, it’s looking to be more than just a builder of home improvements, and to build sustainable industries in remote areas.
