The idea of a virtual reality headset like Oculus Rift was pretty much inevitable for Oculus, but it’s not like it’s just a matter of time before it catches on as a viable alternative to the more mainstream PlayStation VR.
There are some serious potential applications for this technology right now, but the VR headsets we use right now don’t quite meet the standards of the Rift, or even the HTC Vive.
That’s not to say that we shouldn’t be developing a virtual experience that makes the Rift seem like a joke.
